Does an Essex really sound like a Steinway?
At Piano Centre Edmonton we often get asked how similar Essex and Steinway pianos sound.
We set up a freshly tuned Essex EUP123E and a Steinway K132 in our newly renovated Steinway Studio. We had our store manager play the exact same music on both. We recorded both with the same device, at the same position.
The Essex Piano clearly contains much of the Steinway DNA and is unmatched in the 48” Upright Piano Consumer Category for classical tone and touch.
