You’ve Selected a Piano, What Comes Next?

Congratulations on your new piano purchase!

At Piano Centre Edmonton, we understand that the delivery process is an exciting time for our customers. To ensure a smooth and successful delivery, we have prepared a guide to help you prepare your new piano for its arrival.

Step 1: Clear the Pathway

Before the delivery team arrives, it is essential to ensure a clear and unobstructed pathway from the entrance to the designated area where the piano will be placed. Remove any furniture, rugs, or other objects that may hinder their movement. This precaution will help prevent any accidental damage to your piano during transport.

Step 2: Measure the Doorways

To ensure a seamless delivery process, measure the width and height of the doorways, hallways, and staircases the piano will need to pass through. Compare these measurements to the dimensions of your piano to ensure there is sufficient space for transit. If you foresee any potential obstacles, such as narrow entryways or sharp turns, please inform our team in advance, so we can make the proper arrangements.

Step 3: Prepare the Destination

Consider the location where you want your piano to be placed within your home. Selecting an ideal area away from direct sunlight and heating or cooling vents will help prolong the life and performance of your instrument. Ensure that the floor is level and sturdy, as pianos are heavy instruments.

Step 4: Temperature and Humidity Control

Pianos are most sensitive to fluctuations in humidity. Ideally, a steady room temperature and humidity level is best for optimal piano performance and longevity. Monitor the conditions in the room and make any necessary adjustments to create a stable environment for your piano before the delivery.

Step 5: Protect Your Flooring

To prevent any damage to your flooring, consider purchasing optional Coaster Cups. Hardwood, felt-backed coaster cups ensure that your floor will continue to look pristine for years with your new piano in place. The Felt backing also makes it easier to slide the piano back and forth for cleaning in behind or under your new piano.

Step 6: Notify Our Team of Any Concerns

If you have any specific concerns about the delivery process or circumstances, such as tight spaces or delicate floorings, please do not hesitate to notify our delivery team in advance. Providing them with necessary information will enable them to plan accordingly and take any extra precautions to ensure a successful delivery of your New Instrument.
